This article doesn’t specificly talk about my region, but I does express an opinion I agree with on a topic we breifly mentioned in class. At a first glance the topic being argued might seemed heart warming, but in reality the fact that it even needed to become headlining news shows its nothing to feel heartwarmed about but rather a harsh wake up call that this country still has a lot of progress to make.
Law SB 1070
Law SB 1070 was seen as a threat not just to illegal immigrants but also to legal ones who feared to be targeted, and certainly created tension among supporters and their opponentes. This issue goes far beyond legal and ilegal immigration and tackles issues of marginalization in areas like Arizona where two cultures are certainly coming in contact in this border state with Mexico.
